Separation With Ease Programs
Our Separation With Ease programs are specially designed to promote feelings of independence and confidence in children. These programs are more structured than our traditional parent-child programs. The curriculum includes singing, counting, organized play with rules & lots of socializing. The children now manage the craft on their own. Separation for parents is encouraged and supported but NEVER forced.

Our Philosophy Regarding Separation
We, at CFA, truly feel that children (and parents) should separate at THEIR OWN PACE! Sometimes children are ready before parents, sometimes parents are ready before children. Some children take longer to separate than others. The age of the child is insignificant. We firmly believe that the way to build a child’s sense of trust and security is to support and cheerfully encourage THEIR progress at THEIR own pace!
Our “Open Door” philosophy supports successful separation! The classroom door remains open during the program. If children need to be with their parents or parents need to see their children, the doorway is open to allow for this. We believe that if a child is truly comfortable with the separation, they will remain in the classroom whether the door is open or not, even if other parents/adults are in the classroom.
Like many nursery schools, CFA has a “Parent of the Day” policy. Each week a parent remains in the classroom to assist the teacher. Not only does this benefit the teacher and children, but it provides you with the time to directly observe your child’s progress.
If for any reason you are unable to assume responsibility for your scheduled “Parent of the Day”, you are expected to arrange coverage. Class lists with parents names and phone numbers are provided before the start of class. Siblings under 6 months of age are permitted in the classroom in an infant seat. The “Parent of the Day” must have their hands free to properly assist the teacher.

SEPARATION WITH EASE
Ages: 2 - 3 1/2 Years, 60 Minute Separation Program
Our Separation With Ease programs take place at 359 Route 111, Smithtown in the Main Office, the one with the bright green door.
Parents are expected to remain in the building for the duration of the program to ensure the safety and emotional well being of your child. If you need to leave for any reason, you must take your child with you.
An orientation will be provided for parents the first day of class to go over policies and answer any questions you may have. We hope this information is helpful.
